Well, so much for good intentions. I promised to blog every MOnday and I swear I'll do better in the future. So. Instead of talking about myself today, and the yummy chocolate chip cookies I just baked, I want to tell you about some great reads.

Beautiful Dreamer by Cynthianna Appel is a must if you want something to make you feel really, really good. This is a whimsical lkove story that has such an assortment of wild characters you won't know who to take home first. But which one of us hasn;t wanted to be Marianne Librarian, dreaming of her knight on a white horse and suddenly realizing her dreams may be more than fantasy. And Cody, the local sheriff, is just too yummy for words. So here's my advice - pour a chilled glass of wine or iced tea, hunker down with this book, and have yourself a ball.

Love romantic suspense? three winners for you

Watch Over Me by Gail Delaney. I read this one three times, and fell in love the Donovan, the dark hero with a troubled soul who is more heroic than he belkieves. And Olivia, who has spunk and backbone no one gives her credit for. There's a scene near the end of the book where you'll want to stand up and say "Bravo!" for her. The love story in this is treated with such sensitivityyou won't want to stop reading about it.

Ribbon of Rain b y Pam Champagne is definitely for us alpha hero fans who also like kickass heroines. The tension between Kat Tenney and her FBI hunk, Jude Callahanh, will have you wanting to fast forward through the pages to make sure they find a way to be together. There's a lot of suspense in this one and just when you think you know who's behind everything, you flip to the next pahe and---big surprise!

Her Sanctuary by Toni Anderson is another great love story with just the right amount of suspense. When Eliza Reed comes to Nat Sullivan's ranch in Montana, renting one of his cabins, she's hiding from just about everyone in the world. Nat has had his share of disillusionment in life but find himself drawn inch by inch to Eliza who, terrified as she is, refuses to be a victim. There's a scene toward the end that will make you want to run to Montana and find your own Nat Sullivan.

Okay, more good news for my readers. I have just signed a contract with The Wild Rose Press to publish my first inspirational romance. I am honored that they've chosen this book to launch their White Rose Division, the imprint for their inspirational romances. The title of the book is COMING HOME and I will be writing as Emily Brevard.

For those of you used to my hot and steamy romances, this is a real departure, but the book was born of a desire to write things my kids could read without, as they say, needing therapy! And also because faith is a very stron g thread running through our family and I wanted to acknowledge it. The idea for the book came from the homecoming of our daughter Emily Janes, and her return faith. I hope you will all enjoy Jake and Jenna's story, as he helps her with her struggle to find, once again, her beliefs and learn that it is possible to love again.

LOVE WITH THE PROPER RANCHER was reviewed by Fallen Angel Reviews and received Five Angels! Watch me dance around the famly room. Wtach my husband peel me off the ceiling! RANCHER has been getting a wonderful response from readers and reviewers, which of course makes me very happy. I am hard at work on the first sequel, CUTTER'S WAY. For all of you who've been asking for Morgan and Allison's story, this is it.

And don't forget the September release of THE HIRED WIFE. This is part of a trilogy, for which I've just sold the two prequels to Triskelion. ECHOES OF THE PAST will be released in early 2007.

Yesterday was an exciting day for me. I received a contract from Triskelion for four books!!! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE is part of a trilogy that includes THE HIRED WIFE, which will be released in September, and ECHOES OF THE PAST. Don't have a release date for that one yet, so watch this site for updates. The second one is TURST NO ONE, a romantic suspense that won its category in the Memphis RWA chapter's Duel on the Delta contest.

The other two are sequels to LOVE WITH THE PROPER RANCHER. In CUTTER'S WAY, you'll MOrgan and Allison's story, about a man filled with disillusionment where women are concerned, the woman who wants to lead him out of the dark, and what happens when he past unexpectedly turns up again. You'll also meet Tate Donovan, the hero of ONE HOT TEXAS NIGHT. Tate's family owns a hugh cattle ranch just outside White Tail, and Tate has devoted his life to it. But when his father dies and leaves one fourth injterest in the ranch to Ab by Grier, daughter of his second wife, it will take all of Ryan Cutter's skill as an attorney to keep these two from killing each other.

When I was younger - and I won't say how much! - and the guys were playing cowboys and Indians, I was dreaming in my bedroom about cowboys and sweethearts. I've always loved the West and my personal library is filled with romance n ovels set in the West - past and present. I still have a picture of the Marlboro Man, which I kept on my desk while writing LOVE WITH THE PROPER RANCHER. I tried not to drool on it more than once a day. I fell in love with Texas when I read Texas by James Michener, and then began to read everything I could get my hands on. I'm fortunate enbough to be married to a sixth generation Texan, and six years ago we moved to the Texas Hill Country. All I can say is, this is the closest place to Heaven on Earth. Rolling hills with cypress, sycamore and oak trees, acres of pastureland, ranches with herds of cattle of all kinds. And the horse farms, with their magnificent thoroughbreds and of coursem, cutting horses, which are in great demand b y the ranchers.
I learned a lot about modern roundups, inclujding the fact that the larger ranches today use helicopters as well as outriders to herd the cattle. I've seen the cows with their brand new calves, an mares with brand new foals, which are sights to take your breath away. And of course, the cowboys, the stuff of which legends are made. I met a ran cher not long after we moved here who owns a large Black An gus spread, and who is also a lawyer, and he became my model for Ryan Cutter in LOVE WITH THE PROPER RANCHER. I've had so many emails from friends back in Florida, where we lived before, asking what Texas is really like, and are the small towns as friendly as they're protrayed on television in the movies, that and that gave me the idea for RANCHER. I wondered, what if a gal fromn the "city," running from trouble, landed in a small town like the one I live in? How would she handle it? Would she be accepted by the people living here? And what would happen if, after swearing off men, she met a gorgeous cowboy who stole her heart> And that's how the book was born. I hope you'll decide to enjoy Paige and Ryan's story. It's really an adult fairy tale come true.
And in September THE HIRED WIFE will be out, again set in San Antonio and the Hill Country. This place is so rich in location and people I don't think I'll ever run out of stories to place in this setting.

Hi everyone,
I've been far too neglectful posting here, b ut it's only because LOVE WITH THE PROPER RANCHER is finally out!!! And I've been working like a mad fool to get the word out to the world and beyondd. So far the feedback is really good, and I'm excited at the response.

I'm also hard at work on a rewrite of *gasp* a n on-romantic novel, but if the publisher buyhs it I think you'll love it. It's the story of a woman who's a football fanatic and for some reason obsesses about the success of a young quarterback. She writes letters, make phones, and...well, you'll have to wait until the book is sold to find out the rest!

We're definitely into summer here in Texas. Someone once told me that Texas summes are why air conditioning weas invented and I believe them. Of course, I still wouldn;t live anywhere else, no matter what.

Watch for the release of LOVE WITH THE PROPER RANCHER

Hi everyone,
Exxciting time now with the release of LOVE WITH A PROPER RANCHER right around the corner. I live in the Texas Hill Country surrounded by ranches, and let me tell you, cowboys rock! Ryan Cutter, the hero of RANCHER, sure fits the category. Not only that, he's a top notch attorney handling legal work for all the ranchers around him. He's more than a formidable opponent for Paige Cavanaugh when she lands in his town running from the evil bridegroom.

This book was fun to write. I guess I've always wanted to write but never had the time to do it before and do it properly. The first book I tried to write only got as far as three chapters and died. Either I didn't like it or it didn't like me. But of course, it wasn't a romance in the truest sense of the word, so maybe that's why it's still sitting there! Give me a good romance any day and I'm off to the races.

People ask me where I get my ideas. Would you believe...in the shower? It's a great place to think. Sometimes I take a lot of showers! LOL. I pick up snippets from the newspaper, television, conversations...almost anything that sparks an idea. I came up with one idea I have yet to get past the synopsis stage when my daughter and I were eating lunch one day.

Well, back to the writing routine. Got another one that I'm working away on that I'll post a blurb about poretty soon.
